SUPPLY chain specialists Panalpina World Transport has opened a dedicated logistics centre for the oil and gas industry at Loyang Offshore Supply Base in Singapore.
"Despite the crisis, Panalpina in south east Asia stayed its course and continued with the various projects already started or planned," said Volker Sachse, managing director for southeast Asia.
A stone's throw from the company's primary Singapore hub, the new terminal offers 7,000 square metres of indoor storage facilities and 14,000 square metres in open yard space, raising Panalpina's overall warehousing of more than 30,000-square metres.
Through collaboration with the group's other oil and gas centres in Houston, Aberdeen and Dubai, the new facility is expected to enhance Panalpina's global network while solidifying Singapore's position as a key logistics hub.
