DHL opens ocean freight terminal in Kochi

DHL has announced the opening of its new ocean freight terminal in Kochi and the launch of its weekly direct Less than Container Load (LCL) Consol services connecting Kochi to Europe, North America and the emerging markets via DHL's multinational gateway in Colombo, the Hindu Business Lines reported.

Operated by Danmar Lines, DHL's in-house carrier, the new service from Kochi via Colombo offers customers reduced transit times of up to three days.

Amadou Diallo, chief executive officer, DHL Global Forwarding, South Asia Pacific, said with the introduction of the LCL service, the company could offer customers the opportunity to increase their footprint in global commerce.
