PKP Cargo plans investment of PLN 404mn in 2010

Polish state-owned rail freight operator PKP Cargo is planning to invest PLN 404.70mn (EUR 104.74mn USD 142.39mn) in 2010. Primarily, the investment will be focused on the expansion of transshipment terminals in Gliwice/Zabrze, Poznan - Franowo and Malaszewice. Other areas in which the company plans to invest are the modernisation of locomotives, the renovation and purchase of coal wagons and the purchase of modern IT systems. It aims to pay for the investments from its own funds, as well as leasing or credit. PKP Cargo is targetting a net profit of PLN 40mn in 2010, according to Logistics Finland.
