Damco opens Hong Kong logistics facility

Damco, the logistics arm of the AP Moller-Maersk Group has opened a multi-purpose logistics facility in Hong Kong.

The new facility integrates multiple functions aiming to provide various contract logistics services, including export and domestic distribution, drayage and trucking, quality assurance, RMA and reworks to clients primarily in consumer electronics, apparel and the industrial sectors.

"By bringing various professionals under the same roof we can provide more efficient and innovative solutions at higher service levels," said Marky Mak, head of contract logistics in Hong Kong.

The 85,000 sqf, fully secured facility based at Yau Tong on the eastern side of Kowloon is located within 15 minutes drive from Damco's Hong Kong headquarters in Kowloon Bay and provides ease of access for the company's existing and potential customers.

In addition to the warehouse space, the facility has a 2,500 sqf office area including an in-house label centre able to design and produce shipping and retail-related labels for clients across Asia and will also house a corporate team of contract logistics professionals focusing in system and workflow design, process improvement and project implementation for Damco in the North Asia region.
