ATLANTA's mayor, Kasim Reed, in a bid to attract more air freight business to the city's Hartsfield-Jackson Airport, will attend The International Air Cargo Association's (TIACA) biennial forum in Amsterdam this year.
Hartsfield-Jackson, the mayor said, was among the United States' leading passenger hubs, but did not even make the top 10 when it came to air cargo, a fact that the newly appointed Democrat has vowed to change.
Mayor Reed will also attend the industry body's 2012 conference, which is to be held in Atlanta itself, The Associated Press reported.
Memphis International, home to Fedex, is the world's biggest airport for air cargo.
