Tideworks Launches Terminal Operating System

Tideworks Technology launched Intermodal Pro, a comprehensive terminal operating system for intermodal terminals.

Intermodal Pro includes intuitive graphical tools and flexible user-driven reporting that aims to eliminate the guesswork from intermodal terminal operations, enable more efficient loading and unloading of trains, and boost productivity while reducing operational costs.

Intermodal Pro evolved from the company's Spinnaker Planning Management System for vessels, berths, yard and rail planning.

The software offers automated planning tools that accelerate loading, unloading and gate operations while maximizing space. Reporting tools and centralized network topology allow intermodal terminal operators to centralize planning, equipment tracking and gate operations from multiple terminals.

Terminals can trade booking and billing data and exchange sensitive information with customers, partners and back-office systems through electronic data interchange and an electronic translator.

Intermodal Pro will be deployed at CSX Intermodal's operations at Evansville Western Railway's new Northwest Ohio Terminal, which is scheduled to open in early-2011.
