Memorandum of understanding promises help in setting up infrastructure
Germany signed a memorandum of understanding promising to support the United Arab Emirates in setting up a high-capacity rail infrastructure.

Deutsche Bahn said it intends a strategic partnership for the planning, construction and operation of rail systems in UAE, according to German Federal Minister of Transport Peter Ramsauer.

Other companies and agencies plan to invest billions in major rail systems for the region over the next few years, including projects for regional transport, a metro, tram services and the Union Railway, a planned long-distance line linking Abu Dhabi with the southern emirates.

The Al Masaood Group already cooperates with many major German companies in the execution of logistics and transport systems and, with the help of DB, now plans to gain a foothold in the rail sector
