EASTERN Chinese city of Wuxi is to start a new cargo flight service to Hong Kong in April and is also in talks with parties concerned about the launch of a Japanese and a Korean all-cargo service, Logistics Week reported.
Last year, 86 per cent of Wuxi's foreign trade cargo were shipped via the seaport and airport in Shanghai. As World Expo is drawing near, Shanghai is tightening security and this improved the position of Wuxi's cargo flow.
Stricter security measures has slowed down customs clearance air shipments from Wuxi by half to one day. Plus delay in space booking and document submission, the whole process will be two to three days longer than before for exports and one to two days longer for imports.
