Tianjin Customs Express Package Centre starts operation

Apr 2, 2010 Logistics

The Tianjin Customs Express Package Centre, jointly established by Tianjin Airport, Tianjin Aviation Cargo Services Center (TCS) and the local customs, has commenced operation, Logistics Week reported.

The facility is located at TCS' customs-supervised cargo area inside the airport, providing round-the-clock customs clearance service. Its optimised workflow and reasonably arranged entry and exit are said to have shortened the average handling time for a batch of cargo from nine to five hours.

An official from the Tianjin customs said the verification of documents and inspection of cargo are going at the same time at the facility in order to enhance efficiency. Common cargo needs only one hour to go through all the procedures and be released, several hours faster than before. Reception of direct mail cargo was two to three hours shorter.
