Yantai launches air cargo service to Taipei

THE Yantai-Taipei passenger service operated by Shandong Airlines has recently started an aircraft belly cargo service, Logistics Week reported.

The maiden flight loaded with 1,033 kilogrammes of cargo with a value of US$1.23 million from three exporters in Yantai, including electronic products and garments before heading for Taipei's Taoyuan International Airport.

Yantai is the closest trade partner for Taiwan among all Shandong province cities. There are a total of 982 Taiwan-invested companies in the cities. An official from the Yantai Customs is quoted saying that the new cargo service will further strengthen ties between the two places.
