India, Bangla to allow free movement of cargo trucks

Apr 1, 2010 Logistics

India and Bangladesh have reportedly agreed to allow free movement of cargo trucks from May 1.

A "standard operating procedure" will be framed for easy movement of vehicles across the border in the absence of a legal framework, Exim News Service informs.
Customs officials said Bangladesh informally allows Indian trucks to enter 300 metres into Bangladesh, but that this gesture was not reciprocated.
