Air India has started a direct flight to Shanghai’s Pudong international airport that is without even a stop-over at Bangkok, Exim News Service reported.
The new service offers four flights a week—on Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday and Sunday.
The flight takes off from Shanghai at 2200 hrs, and arrives at New Delhi at 0200 hrs, then reaches Mumbai at 0520 hrs.
The return flight leaves Mumbai at 0800 hrs with a stop at New Delhi, before taking off at 1130 hrs for Shanghai where it arrives at 2010 hrs (all local times).
Flying time from Shanghai to New Delhi is six hours and to Mumbai, nine hours—including the New Delhi stop-over.
Air India provides more than 400 flights per day with a network covering 120 destinations in 39 countries.
The carrier had first launched the Shanghai-Bangkok-New Delhi-Mumbai service four years ago.
