Firm markets razor wire and sea marshals to thwart pirates

Mar 22, 2010 Logistics

SUEZ chandler and transit agent Seabird Marine has added a variety of pirate prevention mechanisms to its services, ranging from Somali-inscribed warning placards, to electrified razor wire, and armed security escorts with former special-forces troops.

"We uphold the highest level of professionalism in maritime security, supplying STCW-qualified, fully trained marine security personnel to commercial vessels travelling through high risk waters," the company said in a statement.

Seabird's razor wire can be fully integrated with vessels' main power systems.
