Aryan Cargo Express to launch international service

Mar 19, 2010 Logistics

INDIA's Aryan Cargo Express has announced that it would launch international air freight operations by April of this year, in what would make it the nation's second operator, after Deccan 360, to offer a foreign delivery service.

Chairman Mukut Pathak and two partners will be relying on their own resources to fund the venture, with operations to be serviced by three Airbus A310s on loan from the National Aviation Co.

In an interview with the LiveMint The Wall Street Journal, an unnamed industry advisor said he was sceptical about the firm's prospects, as several international carriers were also increasing their cargo capacity at this time.

But Mr Pathak remains confident that his carrier will benefit from not having to rely on an integrated model like that of Deccan's. This was key to allowing operations to commence with limited start-up capital, he said.
