LOUIS VUITTON Japan has appointed Kuehne + Nagel to manage warehousing at its Osaka distribution centre, resulting in K+N leasing of a logistics facility at Amagasaki midway between Kobe and Osaka.
The Amagasaki plant boasts a handling and storage capacity of 5,600 square metres with state-of-the-art materials handling equipment. The facility will handle inbound air and sea consignments, label scanning, quality and quantity control checks, pick-and-pack operations, sales-ready preparation, as well as reverse logistics," said a K+N statement.
Louis Vuitton Japan manager Dave Goualier said the new facility underscored Kuehne + Nagel's competence to set up showcase warehouse operations at all of Louis Vuitton's outsourced goods.
"Our goal is to support the retail giant in meeting its existing and future logistics requirements with our innovative portfolio of IT-based integrated services," said Kuehne + Nagel Japan manager Holger Beyer.
