Shanghai and Guangzhou airports record rapid cargo growth

SHANGHAI's airports have recorded cargo throughput of 244,700 tonnes in January, a strong growth of 82.2 per cent over the same month in 2009, with an aircraft movement of 25,094 flights, up 14.1 per cent, Xinhua reported.

Guangzhou's Baiyun Airport handled 91,640 tonnes of freight, surging 97.6 per cent year on year. Its passenger volume rose 4.9 per cent to 3.19 million. Aircraft movement went 6.3 per cent up to 27,256 flights.
