RUSSIA's TransContainer has announced the launch of regular block train service from Moscow to the Sakha Republic (Yakutia), one of remotest territories and famous as the coldest place on earth where temperatures fall to 80 below zero.
The first two-block container train, which departed from Moscow to the Sakha Republic (Yakutia), consists of 39 long fitting platforms of TransContainer, according to Russian Transport Daily Report.
The route includes two stops at Berkakit station on the Far Eastern Railway where the cargo will be further delivered to Aldan and Tommot on Yakutian Railways. The times to Berkakit will be eight and a half days, and it will take 10 and a half days to Tommot.
The agents of TransContainer, Sakhatranslogistik and Yakutia Container Agency, as well as actual consignees may receive the cargo at Berkakit (Far Eastern Railway), Aldan and Tommot.
The scheduled service will be through-line and include terminal handling at the departure station, ensuring reliable transit times, said the report. The service accommodates TEUs and FEUs as well as insulated containers delivered by flatcar.
