KOREAN Air Lines has now become the 12th airline to face allegations of price-fixing from the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission (ACCC) between 2001 and 2006, which has already led to A$41 million (US$37.2 million) in fines.
According to the Australian regulator the hearing of charges against Korean Air Lines is set for April 1 with up to 30 airlines under investigation, Dow Jones reported.
"The ACCC alleges that the arrangements or understandings were reached in Korea, Indonesia and Hong Kong for surcharges applied to cargo originating in those countries and in Indonesia for a customs fee applied to cargo originating in that country," the regulator said.
