French logistics firm posts growth

Mar 5, 2010 Logistics

Bollore Africa Logistics, a unit of French diversified holding company Bollore, has booked a revenue growth of seven percent in 2009 to US$2.5 billion, Les Echos reported.

The logistics operator also managed to gain a market share in Africa last year as the economic crisis forced some of its rivals to suspend investment plan.

Bollore Africa Logistics recently opened new offices in Namibia and Ethiopia and is studying a partnership in Egypt.

Bollore Africa Logistics has also won the tender to build and operate a new container terminal at the port of Cotonou, in Benin. It also holds the concession for a container terminal at the deep-water port of Pointe-Noire in Congo, where it has already started works on the $779 million project, with a 30-year concession period.
