For the first time, the European Union’s Marco Polo Project has granted financial support to a road transport company, Emons Cargo, for an innovative congestion alleviation system based on a highly efficient double-loading transport concept that decreases the number of trailers on roads by one third, thus significantly reducing fuel consumption and CO2 emissions. Emons Cargo, which already featured in the first “IRU Best Industry Practice Report”, is a member of the Dutch IRU Member Association TLN.
