New container and trailer security alarm launched

Feb 4, 2010 Logistics

- A new security device has been unveiled by Zenloc Security Systems of the UK in a bid to reduce the number of thefts from containers, trucks and trailers.

To be introduced into the UK market this autumn, the device is fitted to the rear doors of a container or trailer and, if disturbed, sends a signal to the driver. It also emits a piercing alarm and strobe light to warn the attacker it has been activated.

The company believes the device could also help unsuspecting truckers detect stowaways attempting to gain entry to their vehicles.

Once triggered, the device can only be deactivated using a coded electronic key that is built into a receiver carried by the driver or operator.
