HAIWAI-based Aloha Air Cargo has launched an aircraft maintenance subsidiary called Aloha Tech Ops for commercial aircraft in Hawaii, which will generate a recruitment drive for maintenance workers to join its existing engineering team.
The carrier, owned and managed by Seattle's Saltchuk Resources following the shutdown of passenger operations in 2008, has secured deals with Alaska Airlines to service its Boeing 737 as of February, and Canadian carrier WestJet Airlines aircraft.
Pacific Business News reported that Aloha Air Cargo president Mike Malik said these agreements will firmly establish the maintenance unit as provider throughout Hawaii, adding "We are pleased that we can offer these cost effective and customised services for a range of Boeing and Airbus aircraft types; it truly makes us a complete solution provider."
