THE 14th Terminal Operations Conference and Exhibition in Asia, or TOC Asia 2010, a leading event for the container terminal industry, will be held in China for the third year in a row, moving back to Shanghai.
KOREA's Incheon airport experienced a 20 per cent uplift in international cargo volumes in the fourth quarter after a shaky start to 2009 with its first and second quarters declining by 20 per cent and 13 per cent respectively.
The South Korean main hub saw an increase after slowing volumes up to the third quarter down a mere two per cent, reaching a high by year-end and allowing the airport to exceed its annual target of two million ton by 310,000, only a five per cent decline year on year.
Its tally for carriers servicing Incheon to the US added 10,000 tons in 2009 and reflect a recovery in cargo aided by new routes and airlines like US-based Polar Air Cargo bumping up weekly flights by seven to total 17 flights overall.
