NEW YORK's John F Kennedy International Airport made a slight gain in air cargo with a 0.2 per cent increase to 107,825 tons in November, breaking 11 months of decline.

Traffic figures at the JFK airport show freighter operations dropping 15.8 per cent compared to the same period in 2008 with cargo-only flights minimising overall freight traffic. The first 11 months of 2009 plummeted 24.9 per cent and were off 27.8 per cent for the 11-month period, according to Port Authority of New York and New Jersey.

International air freight was up 3.1 per cent year-on-year in November reflecting a late surge in Asia exports pre-Christmas.
