CHINA Southern scored a year-on-year increase of 3.3 per cent in its cargo volume to 861,900 tonnes and 13.8 per cent's increase in its passenger volume to 66.3 million in 2009, Logistics Week reported.
Domestic passenger volume grew by 15.2 per cent to 61.1 million. Seat utilisation rate put on an additional 1.6 percentage points to 75.3 per cent. Load factor increased slightly by 0.7 per cent to 65.2 per cent.
In December, the carrier carried 89,900 tonnes of cargo, a substantial increase of 37.8 per cent over the same month in 2008. Passenger volume rose 18 per cent to 5.5 million, 5 million were domestic passengers, up 17.3 per cent. Seat utilisation grew by 2.1 percentage points to 74.1 per cent. Load factor put on 4.5 percentage points to 66.4 per cent.
