A new trucking service for exports from Hangzhou via Shanghai to Japan has been launched between the Hangzhou Xiaoshan Airport and Shanghai Pudong Airport, Logistics Week reported.
The first batch of cargo using the service, weighing 124 kilograms, has been carried to Shanghai airport and was loaded onto Japan Airlines aircraft.
Hangzhou is an investment hotspot for Japanese enterprises with export growth increasing in the latter half of 2009 prompting a steady rise in demand for logistics. This has led the Hangzhou customs to propose a customs-supervised trucking service between its airport and Shanghai's along with Pudong Airport customs to jointly offer fast and smooth clearance services for exports to Japan.
