Prepaid 08, Europe’s leading event for payments innovation, provides panel debates and small group discussions with the visionary Chief Executives who are redefining how consumers transact, together with the champions launching mass-market prepaid schemes, showing where the new revenue opportunities and huge potential cost savings lie.
As a customer-centric event, Prepaid 08 attracts forward-thinking retailers, transport operators, local and central government agencies, banks and mobile network operators, examining opportunities for cross-industry partnerships in this convergent market.
The conference & expo is organised by Clarion Events and will take place on 23rd-25th June at The Brewery, Chiswell Street, London.
Over 100 international prepaid innovators will be speaking at the event, and with 500 attendees, this will be Europe’s biggest gathering of prepaid professionals.
This event will bring together some of the most important figures in the transport and NFC ticketing industry including Paul Korczak, Chief Officer of Metrocard Operations and Andrew Anderson, Business Process and Analysis Manager of Transport for London – along side such figures as Chris Reddish, Group Head of Prepaid for MasterCard Europe and Dominic Peachey, Senior Policy Adviser for the Financial Services Authority. The conference will also give a detailed insight into some of the most innovative case studies, like Barclaycard OnePulse, the MTA New York and Sainsbury’s.
Piers Bearne, Chief Executive of Clarion Conferences comments:
“Prepaid is a convergent market. To be profitable in this micro-margin business, you’re going to need cross-industry partners to put your application onto the right chips and into the hands of the right consumers”
“Prepaid 08 is about meeting people and forming partnerships, it’s not just another payments industry talking shop. Our interactive sessions won’t just tell you what the prepaid innovators have done, they’ll show you how they’ve done it, and help you understand how to transfer success to your own projects”.
The event will feature interactive roundtables where the experts will be joining attendees at their table with half a dozen of their peers, sharing innovations in contactless, mobile, NFC and direct payment ticketing. Advice clinics provide one-to-one guidance and benchmarking exercises, enabling attendees to gauge the progress of their prepaid product and strategy.
Wireless collaboration systems will also be put in place to open up a two way anonymous dialogue with the expert speakers. Specialist moderators will distil key learnings from discussions for an invaluable package of summaries and actions, which will then be shared in the cross-industry plenary.
The multi-stream event provides dedicated industry breakouts for transport, public services, gift cards, regulation, virtual prepaid, NFC ticketing and general purpose prepaid cards. Delegates can explore payment innovation in their own industry, while understanding business models and building relationships outside their sector.
PLEASE NOTE: Prepaid ’08 will be hosted under ‘Chatham House Rules’ to encourage open dialogue, as ultimately the conference is about meeting people and forming partnerships, and we respectfully ask that any journalists attending respect the fact that any comment made is off the record.
