THE Italian all-cargo airline Cargoitalia launches two new destinations following its successful restart in the summer last year by adding Dubai and Chicago to its existing network services to Asia, North America, and Africa.
A bi-weekly service has begun to Dubai from Milan which will then allow for a further outbound stop to Hong Kong, its inbound leg will stop at Almaty, Kazakhstan.
The replacement of Toronto stop to Chicago on its Thursday transatlantic service from Milan to New York to Chicago, and then back to Milan will be effective as of January 21. Toronto will continue to be allocated a stop on the Milan-based carrier's Sunday transatlantic service.
"These new destinations are designed to create more revenue opportunities from our existing operations, and to test demand," Cargoitalia commercial director Roberto Gilardoni was cited to say in an American Shipper report.
"Subject to support for the revised services, and because our operations have now bedded in so well, we are considering stepping up transatlantic operations with the addition of a Sunday service routing Milan-New York-Chicago-Milan, plus a third weekly departure to Hong Kong," he added.
Additionally, it has provisionally scheduled a third MD11F aircraft for deployment on Shanghai flights as of June 2010.
