UAL sees December's passenger load factor rise to 82pc

UNITED Airlines has reported a December consolidated passenger load factor of 81.9 per cent, up 2.5 percentage points year on year.

Cargo ton miles in December rose by 28.3 per cent year on year on mainline routes flown to 155.075 million. Within this total, freight ton miles were up 38.5 per cent to 132.558 million, while mail ton miles fell by 10.7 per cent compared to the same month the previous year to 22.517 million.

Total consolidated revenue passenger miles (RPM) were flat in December at 9.20 billion, on a consolidated capacity decrease of 3.1 per cent in available seat miles (ASM) at 11.24 billion compared with December 2008, a company statement said.
