COSCO Container Lines signed charter parties for eight 13100 TEU vessels

On September 8th, 2007, COSCO Container Lines Co., Ltd. signed the charter parties with Seaspan Corporation for eight 13100TEU newbuilding vessels in Beijing. As per the charter parties, the charter period will be twelve years and the rate will be USD55000 per vessel per day. The vessels will be built by Hyundai Heavy Industries Co., Ltd. and Hyundai Samho Heavy Industries Co., Ltd. of Korea and delivered in 2011. After the delivery, they will be deployed in the East-West trunk services. Believing with their coming, COSCON will be able to enhance their competition ability and provide better service to his clients. Mr. Sun Jiangkang，Managing Director of COSCO Container Lines and Seaspan CEO Gerry Wang signed the charter parties respectively. Capt. Wei Jiafu, Executive President and CEO of COSCO Group, Mr. Zhang Fusheng, Executive Vice President of COSCO Group, Mr. Chen Hongsheng, Executive Vice President of COSCO Group, Mr. Li Jianhong, Executive Vice President of COSCO Group, Mr. Kyle Washington, Chairman of the Board of Seaspan and Mr. D.Y.Han, Executive Vice President from Hyundai Heavy Industries, attended the signing ceremony.
