Panalpina to handle global freight management for Volex

SWISS forwarding and logistics giant Panalpina has been put in charge of Global Freight Management for the Volex Group, a producer of high speed, fibre optic and complex cable assemblies as well as electrical power cords.

"The implementation process has started and will be carried out in three phases and will be followed by a detailed evaluation of Volex supply chain management requirements globally," a Panalpina statement said.

Panalpina said it was awarded the business based on its competitive pricing and capability to support Volex's vision for future enhancements through Panalpina's supply chain management.

The Volex Group currently operates from 17 countries in Asia, Europe, North and South America. Volex provides global support to producers of computers, telecommunications systems and networking devices.
