THE Civil Aviation Administration of China (CAAC) has agreed to issue an air operator's certificate to Shunfeng Airways, which is based at Shenzhen International Airport.

The carrier is expected to operate 20 flights weekly, deploying two Boeing 757-200 freighters, said China Knowledge in an online report.

Approved by the CAAC in February 2009, Shunfeng Airways was jointly established by China's largest privately-owned express delivery company, SF Express, and Shenzhen Tai Hai Investment Co.

Shunfeng Airways has a registered capital of CNY100 million (US$14.64 million), including CNY25 million invested by SF Express, the report said.
