Relocation of airline check-in counters at HKIA

Oct 26, 2009 Logistics

To improve the space utilisation of Terminal 1 of Hong Kong International Airport and enhance overall passenger flow and services, check-in counters of 15 passenger airlines will be relocated effective Sunday, 25 October 2009.

To facilitate the relocation of counters, additional signage will be posted at the terminal, and information will be put on the flight information displays. More Airport Ambassadors will also be deployed to assist passengers. LED signage on the approaching road to the terminal will be updated to advise drivers of the corresponding zones for various airlines where passengers should alight. These new arrangements have been widely communicated with the travel industry, MTR, bus companies and taxi trade through various channels.

The check-in counters will continue to open two hours before scheduled flight departure times and close 40 minutes prior to departure. Passengers are reminded to allow sufficient time to get to their boarding gates.
