Royal Dutch Shell is in the early stages of developing a floating liquid natural gas processing facility off the northwest coast of Western Australia.
According to The Australian newspaper, the company is in the front end engineering and design phase of the project, which would service gas fields near the massive Browse Basin region.
The fields in question, Prelude and Concerto, are reportedly to be developed over the next 20 years, for condensate and LNG.
A draft environmental impact statement for the floating plant is set to be released for public comment in the near future.
