Admiralty Shipyards to deliver two Kilo-class submarines

Russia’s Admiralty Shipyards will deliver two Kilo-class submarines to two different owners by early 2010.

The first Project 636 Kilo submarine will be delivered to a foreign owner by the end of this year.

The head of the shipyard, Vladimir Alexandrov, said that state tests for this vessel have been completed and the state acceptance act has been signed. He would not name the owner.

Meanwhile, sailing tests on the second submarine have just been completed. This submarine will be delivered to its owner early next year.
