ICTSI Ecuador unit named one of country's top firms

CONTECON Guayaquil SA (CGSA), a subsidiary of port management company International Container Terminal Services Inc (ICTSI), has been named one of the top companies in Ecuador and the Chamber of Commerce of Guayaquil's (CCG) most outstanding member in 2008.

The announcement was made during a ceremony recently held in commemoration of CCG's 120th founding anniversary.



CCG awarded to CGSA the Centenario, which is said to be the most prestigious award given annually to a CCG member whose business performance has significantly contributed to the development of the city in particular and of the country in general.



Since its takeover of the Guayaquil Container and Multipurpose Terminals in 2007, CGSA has modernized port facilities, and deployed new equipment, resulting in a more efficient and systematised vessel and yard operation, a statement from ICTSI said.
