The first operator of private passenger rail services ever to operate trains in Poland, the consortium of Arriva of the UK and PCC Rail, a Polish mainly freight rail company recently taken over by German national rail operator Deutsche Bahn (DB), is likely to be dissolved at the end of 2010. This is when they company's contract with the local government of the Pomorskie voivodship is due to come to an end. Apparently, Arriva is not happy about being in a consortium with PCC Rail now that it has been taken over by DB, with whom it is in open competition with elsewhere. Meanwhile, PCC Rail is soon going to change its name to DB Schenker Rail Polska, according to Logistics Finland.
