Amsterdam air cargo volume up

Amsterdam Schiphol Airport recorded its highest volume figures in July month-on-month at eight per cent and its lowest monthly decline year on year, indicating a bottoming out in Europe.

The major European hub tonnage grew but it was still down by 16.2 per cent compared to the corresponding period last year, the first seven months showed a decrease of 25.3 per cent. Freighter movements were down 28.6 per cent and July decreased by 26.4 per cent, the Shipping Gazette reported.
