Julian Thomas, the President of Hamburg Süd South America, and Marcos Hanson, the Commercial Director of Maersk Argentina and Head of Centro de Navegación’s Container Line Committee, have been confirmed to speak at this year’s TOC Americas conference in Buenos Aires, Argentina. They join moderator Kieran Ring, CEO of the Global Institute of Logistics, on the panel that will debate the evolution of regional shipping networks.
The highly informative session takes place on the second day of TOC Americas, which runs from 9 – 11 November this year. The speakers will review the forces shaping the shipping networks on both north-south and east-west trades, and discuss the implications upstream for logistics and supply chain, plus downstream for ports, terminals and inland distribution. Additionally, the panel will debate freight rate recovery and carrier sustainability, whilst examining how global issues are driving regional strategy.
Other key speakers at TOC Americas 2009 are: Robert West, Principal of Trade and Transportation at Halcrow, Rodolfo Sabonge, Panama Canal Authority’s VP of Research, Roberto Negro, the CEO of Exolgan Container Terminals, James Brennan of Norbridge Inc. and Jean-Paul Rodrigue, Associate Professor from the Department of Global Studies and Geography at Hofstra University, USA.
