CHINA Southern Airlines, Sinotrans Air Transportation Development, and Shenyang Taoxian Airport have jointly established an airport logistics firm, reports Xinhua.

With CNY70 million (US$10.2 million), the joint venture was inaugurated in the north eastern Chinese city of Shenyang, Liaoning province. Its establishment was recognised as a breakthrough in China's airport logistics, according to the China Southern Airlines general manager Tan Wangeng.

Soon, the three shareholders China Southern and Sinotrans each with 45 per cent shares, and Shenyang Taoxian Airport with 10 per cent, will consolidate domestic and international freight in the supervised warehouses and express-mail systems.
In addition, they are expected to share the business from the airport's aviation companies, as well as fully utilising unused and underused areas and facilities at the airport.
