DHL Global Forwarding names Indonesian managing director

STEVE Ryan takes the post of managing director of DHL's global forwarding operations in Indonesia to succeed Tim Wong who recently took up the role of chief operating officer at DHL Global Forwarding in Singapore.

Mr Ryan will report to Sam Ang, DHL Global Forwarding chief executive officer for south east Asia and will head-up its business activities, bringing 12 years of experience in Indonesia. Conversant in Spanish and Indonesian, he holds a masters of engineering degree from Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology and a bachelors of science from the Santa Clara University, California.

"While we have already have a good foothold in key sectors such as energy and telecommunications, we look to leveraging Steve's significant experience in penetrating new industry sectors that present opportunities for sustained growth over the long term," said Sam Ang in a company statement.

"His extensive knowledge of the Indonesian market, combined with his experience in air/ocean freight, warehousing and distribution will greatly add to our capability," said Amadou Diallo, DHL Global Forwarding's chief executive officer for south Asia Pacific.
