TNT Singapore's S$14 million (US$9.67 million) country depot expansion last year has won 14 per cent more customers and increased consignments 38 per cent, the Shipping Gazette reported.
The weight of consignments in the equipment and machinery and healthcare sectors increased by 20 per cent while the high-tech sector saw consignments weight go up six-fold, said a company statement.
"The Singapore country depot were expanded as part of TNT's broader investment in south east Asia to establish a leadership position in the Asia Pacific region," said TNT Singapore Damien Tan.
TNT was recently honoured in the Asia Responsible Entrepreneurship Awards, receiving the Community Engagement Award in June.
The depot occupies 54,864 square metres in Changi South Lane, four times the size of the old TNT facility. The new one houses TNT's Life Sciences Express Hub, the company's largest dedicated life sciences facility in the world, and other regional distribution operations.
