Lower Austrian cops slapped two drivers with almost 7,000 Euros in fines after they said their trucks too dangerous to be on the road, Austrian Times reports.

Officers confiscated a Hungarian truck transporting 2,000 litres of a flammable liquid on the A21 motorway yesterday (Weds) after an inspection revealed one of its tyres was in such bad state it was about to explode, that the driver had fake papers, the load had been improperly secured and 67 containers holding 25 litres of liquid each were unlabelled.

The driver of the truck, which was on its way from France to Romania, was fined 5,200 Euros.

Meanwhile a Serb truck was found to have no working brakes on the left side of its axles while the brakes on the the right side were damaged. The truck, carrying 25 tonnes of plastics, had been on its way from Austria to Serbia.
The driver was given a 1,500 Euros fine and his truck taken off the road.
