iGPS Selects Ryder For Reverse Logistics Expansion

Ryder to provide pallet distribution, freight bill audit, and RFID tracking.

Intelligent Global Pooling Systems (iGPS) has selected Ryder System (Ryder), a transportation, logistics and supply chain management firm, to expand its reverse logistics solution business and to support the continuous flow of pallets among iGPS's customer base.

 

Under the multi-year contract, Ryder will provide pallet distribution, RFID tracking, and redeployment of up to 175 million iGPS pallets annually, for iGPS's North American customers. The company will also provide routing instructions, compliance management, and freight bill audit and payment services.

 

According to the agreement, Ryder will operate a web-enabled transportation and procurement function, based on iGPS's business parameters, to manage all inbound and outbound third-party transportation providers.

 

Expanded services include development of a customized reverse logistics optimization suit for iGPS, based on actual historical data, company-specific processes, and real-world experiences-as quoted in newspress.
