U.A.E.’s new import rules for cooked red meat

Jun 25, 2009 Logistics

The United Arab Emirates’ Ministry of Environment and Water has released new rules for cooked red meat imports.

The rules require that meat must come from animals that are not treated with hormones and both veterinary and health certificates accompany the shipments.

The U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Foreign Agricultural Service warned that these new requirements could “pose a significant challenge to U.S. exporters and regulators.”
