Jun 19, 2009 Logistics

ohn Isbell, a 31-year veteran of Nike, has joined supply chain and logistics consulting services firm Starboard Alliance Co. as vice president.

For the past 11 years, Isbell helped Nike develop its strategic direction and led the global management of the sporting goods company’s logistics services providers responsible for origin consolidation, ocean and air transport of both in-line and product samples, as well as supply chain security and claims management.

His supply chain redesign is credited for reducing Nike’s delivery spend, improving customer delivery performance, reducing order-to-cash cycles, and creating multiple supply chains for seasonal, auto replenishment and consumer-direct products.

Isbell is also known throughout the shipping industry for his innovate concepts in global contracts for origin consolidation, ocean freight, air cargo and small package shipments.

In addition, he has served in board positions with both The Waterfront Coalition and Coalition for Responsible Transportation as an industry advocate for improvements to the U.S. multimodal transportation network.

Manzanita, Ore-based Starboard Alliance, founded by Monica Isbell in 2003, offers a range of supply chain and logistics consulting services to clients in four primary sectors: importers and exporters, logistics service providers, ports, and government entities.
