4th Ocean Energy Technical Conference

Two very full days of technical presentations on research relating to:

• offshore wind

• wave, tide, ocean and river current

• environmental monitoring

• policy and regulations

There will be ample time for networking with engineers, scientists and policy professionals from government, academia and industry. Graduate students are encouraged to submit abstracts. We expect attendees from the UK, Ireland,France, Norway, Portugal, Scotland, Chili, and beyond.

Attendees at the 3^rd Annual MREC Technical Conference appreciated learning about environmental impacts and monitoring methods for ocean energy systems. They also told us to balance talks from government agencies, research institutions and industry.

Last year we ran a session where industry participants give 5 minute pitches on their technologies or services -that will be repeated this time around as well as additional poster sessions.

Generous international sponsors provided funding for some of the foreign students to enable them to present their research. MREC’s industry members kicked in some funding to support a few of the US students who came from outside New England.

People loved the great food, the Sam Adams beer that was served at the reception and the overall presentation and organization of the event, “ The overall quality of speakers was great. Based on this year, I would attend again next year”, Alana Prashad of Innovation Norway.
