FORUM OVERVIEW

The sovereign debt and financial crisis brought along with it obstacles for shipping companies operating in the U.S and abroad: tightened restrictions and delays in bank lending, new maritime laws and regulations, volatile rates, and shifting demands for certain commodities.

Yet, industry participants are creating and seizing opportunities out of these difficult and uncertain circumstances, whether visible in the rising number of transcontinental partnerships meant to either secure safer waters against piracy or safeguard against unpredicted changes in trade, or whether evident in the optimistic investments and returns being made in LNG fuelled vessels and LNG carrying vessels.

In timely fashion, Capital Link’s 6th Annual Invest in International Shipping Forum will take place on Monday, March 19, 2012.   An investor-focused event held every year in New York, the most influential C-level executives—belonging to U.S. and foreign listed shipping companies—will come together to discuss and examine the macroeconomic issues that are shaping and transforming international shipping today.   The forum provides a comprehensive review and outlook on the various shipping markets, made more relevant by the annual release of companies’ performance results.   Attending investors, who undoubtedly may wish to evaluate how companies continue to finance their vessels and projects, will be able to assess both the current and future financial status of international shipping markets.

WHO SHOULD ATTEND?

The Invest in International Shipping Forum, established and recognized as a major industry event, receives an average of 845 attendees per year.  Within a span of just three years, attendance increased by over 20 percent.

The target audience includes institutional investors and analysts, bankers, financial advisors, financial media, and other qualified investors.  The event will be open to the whole sell side brokerage community.
