The breakbulk footprint at ports is shrinking globally with few new breakbulk terminals planned. In Europe, the squeeze of breakbulk terminal space is exacerbated by inland clogs in the supply chain - inland warehouses already filled with steel keep steel dockside, creating challenges for other breakbulk cargo. What can be done to open the bottleneck on breakbulk docks?

Is there a need for B2B e-solutions in the breakbulk shipping sector and could it help track and trace cargo? Speakers will discuss: advantages and challenges; who should be involved besides the shipper, carrier and forwarder; and whether a joint portal - similar to those used by the container industry - is feasible or might port portals might work better.
