ACI’s Ship Recycling will provide an in depth look into the process of recycling a ship, highlighting the critical actions that can be taken by shipowners with vessels nearing the end of their lifecycle.

With increasing awareness of the environmental and social impacts of the shipping industry owners will need to understand the correct processes required when arranging the recycling of a vessel. As the Hong Kong Convention comes into play in 2015 the need for adhering to the correct procedures when recycling vessels will become increasingly important. Now is also the time to prepare for the increased level of regulation and to develop your own company’s corporate and social responsibility.

This event is of high importance to all stakeholders within the ship recycling industry who aim to conduct profitable and environmentally friendly recycling of old vessels. Misunderstandings and bad practice during the sale and recycling process can have extremely high costs to organizations in terms of finance and reputation. This meeting will explore the key facts owners and managers need to be aware of when considering a ship at the end of its lifecycle.
